The Coordination Office for Practical Theological Formation (KOPTA) plans, organizes, leads and evaluates internships for students of theology in congregations (on masters level, “Praktisches Semester”) as well as the programme of ministerial formation following the masters degree and preparing for the ministry in the Reformed Church (Lernvikariat). In an advanced degree programme (CAS in Theological education), we additionally train future supervisors. Our office continually develops methods of teaching and learning. We also use our experience for the benefit of the overall conception of theological education at our faculty. The KOPTA is supported by the University of Bern, the Reformed Churches of Bern – Jura – Solothurn and the Canton of Bern. We cooperate with other Swiss Reformed Churches, the Old Catholic Church of Switzerland and we are part of the International Conference of ministerial training.
